As of October 2026, eToro charges 1% when you open and 1% when you close a crypto position (lower volume-based rates for Platinum, Platinum+ and Diamond), up to $1-$2 per stock trade depending on country, nothing on ETFs, and $5 per withdrawal from a USD account. Withdrawals from EUR, GBP or DKK accounts, account opening and inactivity are free.
Key Takeaways
- Crypto on eToro costs 1% of the position at open and 1% at close for Bronze, Silver and Gold members, so a $1,000 Bitcoin buy pays $10 to open and about $10 to close (as of October 2026).
- Platinum, Platinum+ and Diamond members pay reduced crypto rates from 0.95% down to 0.10%, depending on monthly crypto volume, but only on manual crypto trades.
- Copying on eToro is free, but each copied crypto position pays eToro’s standard 1% crypto fee when it is opened and again when it is closed.
- Withdrawals are free from local-currency accounts (GBP, EUR or DKK) and cost a fixed $5 from a USD account, with a $30 minimum from USD.
- eToro’s fees page lists account opening, management and inactivity as free; the old $10-a-month inactivity fee quoted in many reviews no longer appears there.
- Moving crypto from the eToro platform to the eToro Money crypto wallet costs 2%, with a $1 minimum and a $100 maximum fee.
This is our detailed eToro fee guide and part of our wider exploration of eToro’s offerings. Drawing on the author’s experience using the platform and on eToro’s own fee schedule, we break down what you pay per asset class and per transaction, and which costs you can avoid. If you mainly want to buy and hold coins, our eToro crypto guide covers coins, custody and staking; this page owns the numbers.
eToro no longer adds its own markup to stock and ETF spreads, so most of its revenue comes from the crypto fee, stock commissions in some countries, CFD spreads and overnight fees, currency conversion and the USD withdrawal fee. The full list is below.

Best for low-cost long-term ETF and crypto holders: eToro charges zero commission on ETFs and no overnight or custody fee on real (non-CFD) crypto, according to its fees page, so buy-and-hold investors mainly pay the crypto fee at entry and exit.
eToro — checked on 2 October 2026: eToro (Europe) Ltd (LEI 213800GIFQMSV7HROS23) is listed in ESMA’s interim MiCA register (CASPS.csv, file dated 30 September 2026) as a crypto-asset service provider authorised by CySEC (Cyprus) on 16 January 2025 for 7 services: custody and administration of crypto-assets, exchange of crypto-assets for funds, execution of orders, reception and transmission of orders, advice, portfolio management and transfer services. It is passported to 30 states: AT, BE, BG, CY, CZ, DE, DK, EE, EL, ES, FI, FR, HR, HU, IE, IS, IT, LI, LT, LU, LV, MT, NL, NO, PL, PT, RO, SE, SI, SK.
What are eToro crypto fees?
eToro crypto fees are 1% of the position size when you open a crypto position and 1% again at close, as of October 2026. A $1,000 Bitcoin buy pays $10 at open and about $10 at close. Platinum, Platinum+ and Diamond members get lower, volume-based rates on manual trades.
eToro now shows the crypto fee separately from the market price. According to the eToro fees page, your displayed P&L includes the 1% buy fee already paid and the 1% sell fee you will pay at close; the sell fee is adjusted to the market price when you actually close. That is why a new crypto position shows a small loss immediately after opening.
How the crypto fee works
- Opening a position: 1% of the position size is charged when you buy, deducted from your available cash.
- Closing a position: 1% of the position value at the closing price is charged when you sell.
- Holding: real (non-CFD) crypto has no overnight fee and no custody fee.
Crypto fee by Club tier and monthly volume
eToro applies a tiered structure based on your Club level and monthly crypto trading volume, calculated at the end of each calendar month, as set out on its Help Centre crypto pricing article and fees page (rates per position, as of October 2026):
| Monthly crypto volume | Bronze / Silver / Gold | Platinum | Platinum+ | Diamond |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| $0-$10K | 1.00% | 0.95% | 0.90% | 0.85% |
| $10K-$100K | 1.00% | 0.90% | 0.85% | 0.80% |
| $100K-$250K | 1.00% | 0.85% | 0.80% | 0.75% |
| $250K-$1M | 1.00% | 0.80% | 0.75% | 0.70% |
| $1M-$10M | 1.00% | 0.70% | 0.50% | 0.30% |
| $10M+ | 1.00% | 0.10% | 0.10% | 0.10% |
The first dollar above each range moves you into the next band (for example, $10,001 counts as the second band). These reduced rates apply to manual crypto trades only and exclude CFDs, Smart Portfolios and CopyTrader. At the first band, a Platinum member pays $9.50 instead of $10 on a $1,000 crypto buy.
Two special cases are listed on the fees page: LUNC carries an extra 0.1% operational fee on top of the standard crypto fee because of Terra’s 0.2% tax burn, and eToro retains a service fee on periodic Flare token distributions.

What are eToro copy trading fees for crypto?
Copying on eToro is free, but each copied crypto position pays eToro’s standard 1% crypto fee when it is opened and again when it is closed; the lower Club-tier crypto rates apply only to manual crypto trades, not to CopyTrader or Smart Portfolios.
eToro’s fees page says copy trading has “no extra fees or hidden costs” and that the same spreads and overnight fees apply to copied positions as to manual trades. The Help Centre CopyTrader fee article adds that crypto and CFD commissions are charged at the same rates as regular trading, while copy trades are exempt from the stock commission.
- Copying itself: no fee. The minimum is $200 per copied trader, according to eToro’s crypto page FAQ.
- Copied crypto: 1% at open and 1% at close, whatever your Club tier.
- Copied stocks and ETFs: no stock commission and zero ETF commission.
- Copied CFDs: the same CFD spreads and overnight fees as manual CFD trades.
- Smart Portfolios: no management fee or commission beyond the fees of the assets inside each portfolio.
- Transfers: crypto held in CopyTrader and Smart Portfolio positions cannot be transferred to the eToro Money crypto wallet.
Social features such as the feed carry no direct fee. For a full guide to choosing traders and setting a copy stop-loss, see our crypto copy trading strategy guide.
What is the eToro withdrawal fee?
The eToro withdrawal fee is $5 per withdrawal from a USD investment account and nothing from a GBP, EUR or DKK local-currency account, as of October 2026. Withdrawals from a USD account must be at least $30; local-currency accounts have no minimum.
eToro’s fees page explains that the fixed $5 covers some of the cost of international money transfers. Which rule applies depends on the account the money leaves from, not on your bank: if you hold a local-currency account (available depending on your country of residence), withdrawing from it to an external account is free. The GBP account is provided by eToro Money UK Ltd and the EUR and DKK accounts by eToro Money Malta Ltd.
Be aware that eToro’s own sources are not fully aligned: the Help Centre article “Which fees and commissions does eToro have?” still says all withdrawals carry $5. The fees page is more specific, so we follow it. On a $100 withdrawal from a USD account, the $5 fee is 5% of the amount, so small, frequent USD withdrawals are expensive.
How to withdraw from eToro
- Check that the amount is in your available balance and that your account is verified.
- From a USD account: click Withdraw Funds, enter the amount (at least $30) and select Next.
- Choose your default payment method or another method you have deposited with, then submit.
- From a local-currency account: open the Wallet tab, select the account, click Send Payment, choose the payee, enter the amount and confirm.
- Track the request in your account history; you can reverse it until its status is “In Process”.
According to eToro’s withdrawal FAQ, eToro confirms the status by email within 2 business days. Withdrawals to eToro Money are instant, PayPal, Neteller, Skrill, Trustly and iDEAL take up to 2 business days, and cards and bank transfers can take up to 10 business days. Money sent in a currency other than USD from a USD account also incurs a conversion fee, and intermediary or receiving banks may charge their own fees.
Is there an eToro inactivity fee?
No. As of October 2026, eToro’s fees page lists the eToro inactivity fee as “Free”, alongside free account opening and management. The $10-a-month charge after 12 months without a login, still quoted by many reviews and AI answers, no longer appears in eToro’s published fee schedule.
Earlier versions of this page described that $10 monthly charge. We re-checked the eToro fees page on 2 October 2026 and it shows “Inactivity fee: Free”, with the note that eToro Club members are eligible for discounts or exemptions on fees based on their tier. Logging in occasionally is still sensible for security, but it is no longer needed to avoid a fee.
How much are eToro currency conversion fees?
eToro conversion fees depend on your location, payment method and Club tier. As of October 2026, EUR or GBP deposits and withdrawals to a USD account cost 150 pips by card, e-wallet, online banking or bank transfer, and conversions between a local-currency account and USD cost 0.75%.
All clients can hold a USD account; eligible clients can also hold a GBP, EUR, AUD or DKK local-currency account. Conversion applies when you trade an asset in a different currency from your account, move money between USD and local accounts, or deposit or withdraw in a currency different from the account. Selected rates from the eToro conversion fees page:
| Currency (to/from USD account) | Debit/credit card | E-wallets (PayPal, Neteller, Skrill) | Online banking | Bank transfer |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| EUR, GBP | 150 pips | 150 pips | 150 pips | 150 pips |
| DKK | 1% | 1000 pips | 1000 pips | 1% |
| PLN | 1% | 650 pips | 650 pips | 1% |
| SEK, NOK | 1% | 1600 pips | 1600 pips | 1% |
| CZK | 1% | 3300 pips | 3300 pips | 1% |
| HUF | 1% | 550 pips | 550 pips | 1% |
There are no conversion fees on deposits or withdrawals for local-currency accounts, because only the local currency moves in or out. The cost appears instead when you convert between the local account and USD (0.75% in the UK and Europe) or trade a USD asset with local-currency funds. Deposits triggered by a Recurring Investment are converted free of charge, according to the fees page.
In the UK and Europe, Club members get 20% off conversion fees at Silver and Gold, 40% at Platinum and Platinum+, and 80% at Diamond, on payments through eToro GBP, EUR or DKK accounts and bank transfers from corporate accounts. eToro’s general fee FAQ still describes a 50% discount for Platinum and an exemption for Diamond, so check the conversion page and your trade ticket before you convert.
What are eToro stock and ETF fees?
eToro charges a $1 or $2 commission on opening and closing some stock positions, depending on your country of residence and the exchange, and zero commission on ETFs, as of October 2026. eToro adds no spread markup and no overnight or custody fee on real stocks and ETFs.
According to the eToro fees page, the stock commission is calculated in USD and does not apply to CFD positions, ETFs, copy trading, Smart Portfolios or the opening of Recurring Investment positions. Positions opened before the fee was introduced in your country pay no closing commission. You can see the exact cost by tapping “estimated cost” on the trade screen.
- UK-listed stocks: 0.5% Stamp Duty Reserve Tax on purchases, a UK government tax passed on to clients regardless of residence.
- Stock Margin: 0.15% of trade value at open and close, plus an overnight fee on the borrowed amount.
- Market spread: the normal bid/ask difference still applies and may be wider during 24/5 trading outside regular hours; it is not an eToro charge.
What are eToro CFD and overnight fees?
eToro charges an opening and closing spread of 1% per trade on crypto CFDs and 0.15% per trade on stock and ETF CFDs, plus overnight fees on CFD positions held past the daily cut-off, as of October 2026. Short and leveraged positions are always CFDs.
For indices, currencies and commodities, eToro publishes spreads on its CFD spreads page. CFD positions in US-listed stocks and ETFs priced at $3 or less pay an opening/closing spread of 2 cents per unit. Overnight fees are listed per instrument on the CFD overnight fees page.
- When overnight fees are charged: every night Monday to Friday at 22:00 UK time for open CFD positions; crypto CFD overnight fees are charged daily.
- Weekend fees: three times the overnight fee, charged on Wednesday for most commodities and currencies and on Friday for most stocks, ETFs and indices.
- Germany: non-leveraged crypto CFD positions opened by German clients incur no overnight fee.
- Spain: since 2 August 2024, new users from Spain cannot trade CFDs, in line with CNMV guidance.
Due to regulatory requirements, some non-leveraged BUY positions in crypto, stocks or ETFs may also be executed as CFDs; the trade window marks every CFD trade as “CFD”. CFDs are complex leveraged products and you can lose money quickly, so read our eToro CFD page before using them. Shorting crypto is covered in our short-selling guide.
Does eToro charge deposit fees?
eToro’s fees page lists no separate deposit fee as of October 2026. The cost to watch when depositing is currency conversion: EUR or GBP paid into a USD account costs 150 pips, while deposits into a matching local-currency account carry no conversion fee.
Your payment provider, card issuer or bank may still charge its own fees, which eToro does not control. If you live in the UK or the EU, depositing through a local-currency account avoids the deposit conversion entirely; you then pay conversion only when you move money to USD or buy a USD-priced asset.
What does it cost to move crypto to the eToro Money wallet?
Transferring crypto from the eToro investment platform to the eToro Money crypto wallet costs 2% of the amount, with a $1 minimum and a $100 maximum fee, as of October 2026. Transfers from or to external wallets carry no eToro fee, only the blockchain fee.
Details are on eToro’s coin-transfer page. The fee is deducted in units of the coin being moved, so you need that coin in your balance, and the position is closed once the transfer completes. Because of the cap, a $10,000 Bitcoin transfer pays $100 rather than $200. Only real crypto BUY positions in eligible countries can be transferred.
Inside the wallet itself, opening, closing, sending and receiving are free, with limits of $50,000 per transaction and $200,000 per day. Selling crypto for GBP, EUR or USD in the wallet costs 1% for Silver, 0.8% for Gold and Platinum, and 0.6% for Platinum+ and Diamond, according to the wallet fees page. For customers in Germany, crypto transfers and their fees are processed by Tangany GmbH. For the step-by-step setup, see our eToro wallet guide.
How do eToro Club tiers change the fees?
eToro Club tiers lower three costs: crypto trading (Platinum and above), wallet crypto sales (Gold and above) and currency conversion (Silver and above). Your tier depends on your cash balance or an active paid subscription, according to eToro’s fees page as of October 2026.
| Club tier | Manual crypto fee (lowest volume band) | Wallet crypto sale | Conversion discount (UK and Europe) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Bronze | 1% | Not published | None published |
| Silver | 1% | 1% | 20% |
| Gold | 1% | 0.8% | 20% |
| Platinum | 0.95% | 0.8% | 40% |
| Platinum+ | 0.90% | 0.6% | 40% |
| Diamond | 0.85% | 0.6% | 80% |
None of these discounts reduces the 1% fee on crypto opened through CopyTrader or Smart Portfolios. Thresholds and other Club perks are covered in our eToro Club tier levels guide.
Fee tables only tell you so much. With the $100,000 virtual portfolio that comes with every eToro account, you can open and close practice positions on live prices and see the spreads and fees above in action before you deposit.

Who Is It For, and Who Should Avoid It?
eToro’s fees are not a good fit for frequent crypto traders below Platinum, who pay 1% each way, for anyone who wants Club crypto discounts on copied trades, or for users making small, frequent withdrawals from a USD account at $5 each.
eToro’s fee model suits:
- Long-term ETF investors, because ETF trades carry zero commission.
- Buy-and-hold crypto investors who trade rarely, because real crypto has no overnight or custody fee.
- UK and EU residents with a GBP, EUR or DKK account, because withdrawals from it are free.
- Beginners who want to copy other investors without paying a copy fee.
The main drawbacks of eToro’s fees:
- A round trip in crypto costs about 2% for Bronze, Silver and Gold members, before any price move.
- Copied crypto always pays the standard 1% per side, even for Diamond members.
- Moving coins to the eToro Money wallet costs 2% (up to $100), and copied or Smart Portfolio crypto cannot be moved at all.
- Non-USD money paid into a USD account loses 150 pips (EUR, GBP) or up to 1% (other currencies) on conversion.
- CFDs add overnight fees, and new users in Spain cannot trade them.
How can you reduce eToro fees?
The most effective ways to cut eToro fees are to trade crypto less often, use a local-currency account for deposits and withdrawals, withdraw in larger amounts from USD, avoid holding CFDs overnight and, if your balance allows, reach Platinum for lower manual crypto rates.
- Trade crypto less often: every round trip costs about 2% at the standard rate, so fewer, larger decisions cost less than frequent switching.
- Use a local-currency account: withdrawals from GBP, EUR or DKK accounts are free and avoid the $5 USD withdrawal fee.
- Batch USD withdrawals: the $5 fee is fixed, so one $1,000 withdrawal costs less in percentage terms than ten $100 withdrawals.
- Buy real assets instead of CFDs for long holds: real stocks, ETFs and crypto have no overnight fee.
- Trade crypto manually if you hold a high Club tier: the reduced Platinum to Diamond rates apply only to manual trades.
- Check the trade ticket: eToro lists commission, spread and overnight fees on the execution screen before you confirm.
If you trade crypto actively, our guide to spot trading strategies explains how holding period and trade frequency drive total costs.
Are there hidden eToro fees?
eToro publishes its fees and shows the estimated cost on the trade screen, so there are few true hidden fees. The costs people miss most are the market spread, conversion on non-USD money, overnight fees on CFDs, the 2% wallet transfer fee and charges from banks or payment providers.
Costs that are easy to overlook
- Market spread: the bid/ask difference is set by the market, not by eToro, but it still affects your execution price, especially outside regular hours.
- Conversion: a EUR or GBP deposit to a USD account is converted at 150 pips, and the conversion recurs when you withdraw.
- Weekend CFD fees: three times the nightly overnight fee.
- Special tokens: LUNC has an extra 0.1% operational fee.
- Third-party charges: intermediary or receiving banks and card providers may charge on withdrawals.
Navigating potential hidden costs
- Read the fee pages: eToro’s fees, conversion, CFD and wallet pages are the binding reference.
- Stay informed: eToro changes fees from time to time, and overnight fee changes apply to open positions without advance notice.
- Ask questions: use eToro’s customer support if a fee on your statement is unclear; your portfolio history tab lists fees per trade.
Key terms in eToro’s fee schedule
Five terms explain almost every line on an eToro statement: market spread, crypto fee, overnight fee, conversion fee in pips and Club tier. Each is defined below in the sense eToro uses on its fees page as of October 2026.
- Market spread
- The difference between an asset’s buy (ask) and sell (bid) price, set by the market; eToro says it adds no markup on real stocks and ETFs.
- Crypto fee
- A percentage of the position size charged when a crypto position is opened and again when it is closed: 1% as standard.
- Overnight fee
- A financing charge on CFD positions held overnight, tripled for the weekend.
- Pip (conversion)
- The unit in which eToro quotes many conversion fees; 150 pips is the EUR or GBP rate to a USD account.
- Club tier
- eToro’s loyalty level (Bronze to Diamond), based on cash balance or a paid subscription, which unlocks fee discounts.
eToro fees explained: what is the bottom line?
eToro is cheap for holding ETFs, stocks in many countries and real crypto, and expensive for frequent crypto trading below Platinum, copied crypto, USD withdrawals and coin transfers to the wallet. The fixed fees are easy to plan for once you know which account and product you use.
This guide covers the main trading and non-trading fees on eToro’s investing and trading platform:
- Trading fees:
- Crypto: 1% at open and 1% at close as standard; 0.95%-0.10% for Platinum to Diamond on manual trades.
- Stocks: $1 or $2 commission in some countries; ETFs commission-free.
- CFDs: 1% per trade on crypto CFDs, 0.15% on stock and ETF CFDs, plus overnight fees.
- Non-trading fees:
- Withdrawal: $5 from a USD account; free from GBP, EUR or DKK accounts.
- Inactivity: free, according to eToro’s fees page.
- Conversion: varies by currency, payment method and Club tier.
- Wallet transfer: 2% from the platform, $1 minimum, $100 maximum.
Crypto assets are volatile and CFDs carry a high risk of losing money rapidly due to leverage. Nothing on this page is financial advice; check eToro’s current fees before you trade. For more ways to put these costs in context, see our overview of crypto trading strategies.
