About the Skilling online trading platform
Skilling is a fast-growing fintech company owned by Scandinavian partners. Since 2016, this broker has been offering a platform developed by industry and technology experts with a clear goal: to make trading simple and accessible to everyone in a transparent and secure environment. Created by technology innovators for traders, by finance and technology enthusiasts.
Skilling’s leadership team is personally committed to building a large trading community in Europe and around the world. Skilling is a broker that makes a great first impression with its high level of transparency. It seems to want to tell its story in an engaging and unconventional way.
When you go to the ‘About Us’ section of Skilling’s website, you will notice that it is full of names and photos of the people who work there. This increases the overall level of transparency of the broker. We got the impression that Skilling wants to build a strong sense of trust with its customers from the very beginning.
Who is the Skilling broker suitable for?
As a well-regulated broker, Skilling can be a reliable partner for everyone. We have found that experienced traders can appreciate the versatile tools of the Skilling broker to conduct exploratory technical analysis. They can also use the more than 900 tools in the platform to diversify their strategies, gaining exposure to different markets.
Newcomers to the trading world can start their journey at this broker by taking advantage of the excellent trading conditions on Skilling’s multiple platforms, including Skilling Trader, cTrader and MetaTrader 4.
Alternatively, they can take advantage of Skilling’s Copy Trading option, also known as social trading, which allows them to copy trades executed by more experienced traders. The broker’s website is well organised and easy to navigate, with most of the data grouped into a few main categories. Even less experienced investors can easily manage the platform, with a few clicks to access most of the articles.
Markets available on Skilling
Skilling offers a choice of three trading platforms (Skilling trader, cTrader, MT4) and a customer support team. The broker maintains a balanced trading offering covering over 900 tradable CFDs, including currency pairs, equities, popular commodities and global indices. Skilling also offers one of the richest Crypto CFD offerings on the market, with ultra-fast order execution times (under 5 ms).
Security level
Customers from European Economic Area (EEA) countries can enjoy the highest level of security offered by the broker, thanks to Skilling Limited being regulated by CySEC.
On the other hand, the FSA provides a weaker and less strict regulatory framework, making Skilling Seychelles Limited less secure. The offshore regulation covers the most important aspects, such as the storage of client funds in segregated accounts and protection from a negative balance. However, there is no clearing system and the leverage of all assets is rather high.
Higher leverage increases the risks traders face due to adverse price fluctuations. For the tests of stability and transparency in the category ‘Credibility’, we focused on the broker’s length of business, the size of his company and the availability of information. Skilling received an average score because all relevant information was readily available on the broker’s website.
The company was founded 6 years ago and employs over 70 people.

Advantages and disadvantages
Skilling offers a good range of trading tools and technical solutions for low-risk trading and investing. We credit this broker with a good range of trading platforms and advanced research tools, with easy account opening. On the downside, there are no accounts in different currencies, so financing fees may apply, there are no tutorials, and the international offering differs from the EU-regulated one.
Advantages
- Easy-to-use broker platforms suitable for beginners
- A wide variety of instruments, including Forex and CFDs
- Good customer support
- Highly protected and regulated broker
Disadvantages
- Lack of accounts in different currencies
- US, UK and Australian traders are not allowed in the broker
Types of accounts
Skilling offers two main account types: Standard and Premium. Both are available at this broker regardless of the trading platforms selected. Scalping is allowed and both have negative balance protection. Accounts can be corporate, non-swap and non-leveraged.
Standard
Skilling’s standard account is ideal for almost everyone and has zero fees. It is available on the Skilling Trader and Skilling cTrader platform, with a spread of 0.7 pips. The minimum deposit is USD 100 and the leverage for retail clients is up to 1:30 with a CySEC licence and up to 1:500 with an FSA licence.
Premium
Skilling’s premium account differs from the standard account mainly due to its spreads (of 0.1) and the fact that it is tied to a low commission based on volume. Given the low spreads, the initial deposit is higher (EUR 5,000) or equivalent in your local currency. It is available on the Skilling Trader, Skilling cTrader and MT4 trading platforms.
Corporate account
A Skilling Corporate Account will be opened by the broker in the name of the legal entity and then classified according to the above criteria. That is, it can be a standard, premium or MT4 account. Corporate accounts that are subject to CySEC regulation can also apply for professional trader status.
Types of broker trading platforms
MetaTrader4 (MT4)
MT4 offers over 200 instruments, as well as high execution speeds, expert advisors (EAs) for automated trading, and an array of charting tools, including 2,000 customisable indicators. MetaTrader 4 is the most popular trading platform on the market and will meet the needs of both novice and experienced traders. Using MT4 with Skilling is very simple. You can choose to trade via the web version or download the MT4 trading platform directly from Skilling. If you prefer to trade via mobile, simply download the official MT4 app and connect your MT4 account to Skilling.
Skilling Trader
Skilling’s in-house platform features a number of indicators, including options such as the moving average and MACD, which allow convenient technical analysis for investing.
A range of charting styles are also available to suit the investor’s visual preferences, as well as comprehensive order management with access to previous trades, account balances and brokerage withdrawal history. A particularly useful feature is the ability to analyse historical trading patterns against other portfolios within the broker.
By looking at historical data, traders can make better forecasts, such as 5-, 7- or 10-day forecasts. Compared to other solutions, investors have quicker access to data, more customisation elements, a range of filters and a ‘Market Search’ function – this helps clients find the right trades quickly. Thanks to its browser-based format, the Skilling broker’s trading platform is available in all major browsers. It also works on mobile devices with dedicated iOS and Android apps.
cTrader
Skilling cTrader offers a sophisticated platform designed to meet the needs of both novice and experienced investors. It offers fast access and execution, advanced charting tools, order types, second-tier pricing and more. In addition, it has a user-friendly interface and clients can invest via web browser, mobile phone or by downloading the software from the broker’s website. Compared to MT4, the cTrader platform offers three different levels of market depth, while MT4 has only one.
Copy Trading
This is a copy and social trading service with over 1,000 strategies available for users to invest in. Copy trading works by allowing beginners to replicate the positions of successful investors. In return for their efforts, the strategy provider receives a small commission. The system is web-based and integrated into the cTrader platform, with in-depth performance statistics available to help customers research and invest. Users can view the history of strategy providers as well as their performance and trading style.
Customer Service
Skilling broker’s customer support is available Monday to Friday, between 04:00 and 22:00 CET, to answer all your questions via live chat, phone or e-mail. All traders at Skilling are assigned a personal manager who can be contacted directly if you need assistance or have questions. Skilling reviews: is it the right choice?
These Skilling reviews found that for cryptocurrency investors looking to mirror the movements of serious cryptocurrency traders, Skilling’s social investing platform is an attractive proposition for investing. With over 57 cryptocurrencies to trade, Skilling offers more choice than other brokers.
This online broker is one of our first choices when it comes to a trading platform. This is especially true for new traders who are not yet familiar with the technical aspects of trading platforms. The site’s resources include the Skilling Academy, which introduces new traders to the concept of CFD and forex trading.
Headquartered in Cyprus, the broker offers traders access to more than 4,500 markets; including 300 of the world’s largest stock, commodity, index and cryptocurrency assets. The trading platform is fully web-based and compatible with Windows, Mac OS, iOS and Android operating systems.
We believe that Skilling is an excellent trading platform. What does this mean? It means that we found it easy to navigate, which is the right answer to the needs of those who are new to investing or trading online. The development of the platform continues before our eyes and Skilling will clearly not stop there.
